Application of glass fiber composites
Compared with organic fiber, glass fiber has the advantages of high temperature resistance, incombustibility, corrosion resistance, good heat insulation and sound insulation, high tensile strength and good electrical insulation. But the disadvantage is brittle and poor wear resistance.
Glass fiber is mainly used as electrical insulation material, industrial filter material, anti-corrosion, moisture-proof, heat insulation, sound insulation, shock absorption material. It can also be used as reinforcing material for plastics or rubber, gypsum and cement. Glass fiber coated with organic materials can improve its flexibility, and can be used to make packing cloth, window screen, wall covering cloth, protective clothing, electric insulation and sound insulation materials.
Secondly, continuous glass fiber is an infinitely long fiber drawn by mechanical drawing method through platinum alloy plate. Fixed length glass fiber is a discontinuous fiber made by roller or air flow, also known as short fiber. Finally, Grade E glass fiber is the most commonly used, widely used in electrical insulation materials; Grade S is a special fiber, although the output is small, but it is very important, because of its super strength, it is mainly used in military defense, such as bulletproof box; Grade C has more chemical resistance than Grade E, which is used for battery isolation plate and chemical filter panel; Grade A is alkaline glass fiber, which is used to produce reinforced materials.
